This point jumped out at me:
"The privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it."

"The basic premise behind habeas corpus is that you cannot be held against your will without just cause. ... No Proselytizing and No Political Campaigning Clause
Wed, June 7, 2006 - 9:03 PMIt struck me that we are not allowed to exercise our First Ammendment rights of Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Religion while under contract. I know that we are only restricted while on duty, but with the you are at work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week spiel and the nudge nudge wink wink you can get in trouble at any time for exercising these rights I feel restricted.
It isn't so much that I think I will want to proselytize in such a way that will hurt my local/regional/national program, but that everytime someone mentions religion casually in conversation I feel like I am walking on eggshells. Similarly, I have not found anything to campaign about out here, but if there were a local peace group and I wanted to attend meetings and/or rallies I would feel an internal conflict between the agreement in my contract and my affirmation that I would defend the Constitution. If the Constitution no longer applies in my head then a great battle has already been lost.
